Data for Decision Making in Fistula Treatment Services

This series of training modules from Fistula Care and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) provides clinical supervisors, service providers, and national-level stakeholders with skills to review and interpret data for decision making in order to strengthen health systems and services. "The document includes guides for discussion and interactive activities, as well as handouts and other tools to teach lessons about data gathering, analysis, and application. The modules supplement EngenderHealth's facilitative supervision tools, which emphasize team problem solving and communication."

The Fistula Care project aims to increase and strengthen the number of health care sites providing fistula services, as well as to support prevention services, and includes in its work training for surgical teams and doctors, improving emergency obstetric and family planning for prevention, engaging communities to enable women to access maternal care, collecting and analysing data on fistula services, and encouraging the policy environment that supports fistula repair and prevention. This document is a supplement to Using Data to Assure the Quality of Medical Services of Facilitative Supervision for Quality Improvement: A Curriculum.
