National HIV/AIDS Education (2) - Thailand
This was the second of two national HIV/AIDS education programmes of the European Union in Thailand in 1994. It focused specifically on one province, Chiang Rai. By improving the awareness of of young people in rural districts, and by increasing their motivation to teach one another, the project hoped to produce youth that were more capable of making responsible and informed decisions about sexual health.
Communication Strategies
Village education classes were organised by the Ministry of Education. This was created as a culturally appropriate model for education on HIV/AIDS to be applicable to the rest of Thailand.
