Development action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.
 
Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.
 
We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

A non-profit association, Red TVE Brasil is part of the Educational Communication Association Roquette Pinto. It operates a network of TV and radio stations that reaches all the brasilian territory.

Its mission is to develop educational and cultural programming using a combination of television, radio and new technologies and mobilising a national network of partnerships in order to educate, advance debate and influence public policies.
Communication Strategies
As a public TV broadcaster, Red TVE Brasil aims to achieve broad public access to media and to show the cultural diversity of different brasilian regions.

Red TVE Brasil operates two conventional TV stations - Rede Brasil and TVE do Maranhã, one satelite TV station - Rede Brasil, 3 conventional radio stations - Radio MEC AM 800 and Radio MEC FM 98.9 in Rio de Janeiro, and Radio MEC-Brasília 800, and one satelite radio station - MEC-SAT 3.750.

Red TVE Brasil also acts as coordinator of a national network of affiliated educational radio stations, all over the country.
