After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.
 
Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.
 
We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

The Child Survival and Health Grants Program (CSHGP) Technical Advisor (the Advisor) serves as a member of the CSHGP team in the Nutrition Division within the Office of Health, Infectious Diseases and Nutrition in the Bureau for Global Health. Under the programmatic guidance of the CSHGP Team Lead, the Advisor provides technical leadership and assistance, strategic coordination, and management oversight to advance the technical and cross-cutting priorities of the CSHGP, including specific private voluntary organization (PVO)/non-governmental organization (NGO) projects, and technical assistance through the Maternal and Child Health Integrated Program (MCHIP), with partners Macro International, Johns Hopkins University and the CORE Group.

The Advisor will ensure effective contributions of PVOs and NGOs to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)'s policies, strategies, programs, and learning at the global and national levels. The Advisor liaises with units and teams in USAID and USAID partners to strengthen strategic linkages and synergies between CSHGP-supported community-oriented projects, research and program learning, and strategic directions.
